Will Bayern Munich bring back the solid defender?
Eric Dier has made quite an impression since joining Bayern Munich back in January of 2024.
Solid on the pitch and in the locker room, Dier has endeared himself to both teammates and fans — and now he might actually have a chance to get a new deal in Bavaria.
Prior rumors indicated that Dier might be on his way out, but Sky Sport journalist Florian Plettenberg is reporting that might not exactly be the case:
A contract extension for Eric #Dier is no longer being ruled out at FC Bayern, mainly due to his solid performances in recent weeks. However, no final decision has been made yet.
Bayern will hold further talks with him. The 31-y/o centre-back is keen to extend his contract beyond the end of the season.
This would be a great thing for both parties. Sure, Dier has a shelf life, but he is reliable, a consummate teammate, and could come relatively cheap. Bayern Munich could do a lot worse than Dier for a depth player on the backline.
