Manchester City are preparing to host Brighton in the Premier League at home this weekend. The former side faced a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Nottingham Forest in their previous game. Hence, they will be desperate to return to the winning ways.
The Citizens need to keep winning their league games if they wish to finish in the top four. Moreover, this game will be important for Pep Guardiola’s side to regain their lost confidence especially ahead of their FA Cup quarter-final round against Bournemouth.
4-3-2-1 Manchester City Predicted Lineup vs Brighton
Defence
Ederson has been a bit inconsistent with his performances recently but he should be keeping his spot in the lineup. Rico Lewis could walk into the XI at the expense of Matheus Nunes at the right-back position.
Ruben Dias and Abdukodir Khusanov are likely to form the heart of the defence yet again. Left-back Josko Gvardiol also keeps his place in the starting lineup.
Midfield
While Nico Gonzalez is likely to be deployed in the middle of the park once again, Pep Guardiola could use İlkay Gündoğan to complete the midfield duo.
Attack
Savinho continues to operate on the right flank with Jeremy Doku providing his services from the other side of the pitch. Though Phil Foden has great numbers against Brighton, Omar Marmoush is likely to start in the attacking centre area.
Erling Haaland leads the attacking front once again without any second thoughts.
Rodri (ACL), Nathan Ake (foot), Manuel Akanji (abductor), and John Stones (thigh) are confirmed absentees while Oscar Bobb (ankle/fitness) will be assessed before the match to understand his availability.
