Tottenham Hotspur have had a bit of a disaster of a season so far.
Spurs sit 13th in the Premier League table, and while they got through in the Europa League in midweek, Ange Postecoglou is still under pressure.
Indeed, there have been calls for Postecoglou to be sacked, while there have been protests against Daniel Levy too.
When there’s that much unrest behind the scenes, you know something isn’t quite right, and Spurs’ season has been a bit all over the place.
However, it hasn’t all be doom and gloom for Tottenham.
Indeed, some of Spurs’ young stars have really stepped up this season.
Archie Gray has earned serious praise this year, while Lucas Bergvall looks like a star in the making.
Speaking on Tottenham’s YouTube channel, Ledley King has been discussing Bergvall, and he says that he’s a big fan of the midfielder.
Interestingly, King also noted that Bergvall is a lot bigger than people realise, stating that his size and physicality doesn’t quite stand out as much as it should.

Lucas Bergvall is bigger than people think
King spoke about Bergvall and his size.
The pundit says that Bergvall is actually a big unit, despite the fact his size doesn’t necessarily stand out so much due to his fantastic technical ability.
“One thing that probably doesn’t stand out is just how big Lucas is and how physical he is. For someone so young he knows how to get stuck in and he has great intensity in terms of his pressing.
“We speak about lifting crowds, he can do that with his pressing, his running, his enthusiasm to win the ball back at times. He can dribble, he can pass, I’ve been really impressed with him.”
How big is Lucas Bergvall?
Bergvall may only be 19, but he is a big lad.
Indeed, Alasdair Gold commented on Bergvall’s size earlier this year after interviewing him in person.
“You can see it. I was waiting after the game and observing the way he was. He looks like a star. Boy band looks, a poster boy of the sport Sweden want him to become,” Gold said.
“He’s a big lad, that’s what I noticed. I’m 6 ft and he’s above that, he’s broad, really physically developed. I noticed that in the game as well, not easily pushed off the ball.”
So, how big is Bergvall?
The Swede stands at 6 ft 2, making him one of the bigger outfield players in the Spurs squad.
Tottenham’s tallest outfield players | Height |
---|---|
Micky van de Ven | 6 ft 4 |
Radu Dragusin | 6 ft 3 |
Kevin Danso | 6 ft 3 |
Archie Gray | 6 ft 2 |
Lucas Bergvall | 6 ft 2 |
That physicality will certainly come in handy in the coming years, and the scary part is, at the age of just 19, he’s not even finished developing physically either.
Bergvall could become an absolute superstar in years to come.
