Manchester City is facing a battle to qualify for the Champions League as a result of its relative struggles this season, and next up for Pep Guardiola‘s men is a tricky-looking assignment against Brighton.
Fabian Hurzeler’s men, who have only lost six games all season, have won their last four in the Premier League, and a victory away to City would take them up to fifth in the league standings. A fifth-place finish which will almost certainly be enough to qualify for the Champions League next season.
A defeat for City, meanwhile, would see the Etihad Stadium club drop out of the top five, and face a real battle to qualify for Europe’s premier club competition next term.
The clubs currently placed between fourth and ninth in the league are separated by just five points, so a win for either side would provide a huge boost to the victor’s top-five chances.
