Stockport County will make the short trip to the Toughsheet Community Stadium on Saturday to take on Bolton Wanderers in a crucial game at the top end of the League One table.

The sides are separated by just two points with 10 games remaining, as the visitors sit fifth and the hosts occupy the final playoff spot.

We say: Bolton Wanderers 1-1 Stockport County

With just two points separating them and plenty at stake in the playoff race, we envisage a tight contest in Lancashire on Saturday.

Having seen their momentum slowed and their unbeaten run halted by a midweek defeat, Bolton may be held on home turf given the similar quality between the sides.

Cambridge United will welcome Peterborough United to the Abbey Stadium for the second Cambridgeshire Derby of the season on Saturday.

The visitors dished out a 6-1 beating in the reverse fixture in November and have moved back clear of the League One drop zone in recent weeks.

We say: Cambridge United 1-3 Peterborough United

Peterborough United have shown their dominance over their rivals in recent years and will fancy themselves to prevail again at the Abbey Stadium, given their superior quality and the difference in momentum between the Cambridgeshire sides.

Blackpool and Leyton Orient square off at Bloomfield Road on Saturday afternoon with both clubs desperate for a win to remain in the playoff hunt.

These two teams sit in 11th and ninth position in the League One table respectively, the home side in far better form than the visitors.

We say: Blackpool 1-1 Leyton Orient

With Blackpool building up a head of steam of late, they are the clear favourites to come through this contest. However, we are backing the visitors to get back on track, to a certain extent, to earn a share of the spoils.

Charlton Athletic play host to Wigan Athletic on Saturday afternoon looking for the win that will strengthen their hold of a playoff spot.

At a time when the Addicks sit in fourth position in the League One table, the visitors are in 15th place and with a new head coach at the helm.

We say: Charlton Athletic 2-1 Wigan Athletic

With Lowe now in charge of Wigan, they could surprise a few during the closing stages of the campaign. However, we feel that Charlton will have too much quality, particularly at the Valley, as they look to take another step towards securing a top-six spot.

Huddersfield Town will welcome Crawley Town to the John Smith’s Stadium on Saturday for an important game at both ends of the League One table.

The hosts will play their first game following the midweek departure of Michael Duff in a bid to return to the playoff places, while their visitors sit 22nd and nine points adrift of safety.

We say: Huddersfield Town 2-1 Crawley Town

Crawley Town do arguably meet Huddersfield Town at a favourable time, given the hosts’ injuries and recent struggles, but the Terriers should still have enough quality to get over the line against the strugglers on home turf.

Lincoln City square off against Bristol Rovers on Saturday afternoon looking for the win that may move the club back into the top half of the League One table.

Meanwhile, Bristol Rovers head into this encounter searching for the victory which may put further distance between themselves and the relegation zone.

We say: Lincoln City 1-1 Bristol Rovers

With Lincoln having the freedom to push for all three points, we expect them to do just that. However, a draw would prove valuable to Bristol Rovers at this stage of the season, and an early goal could lead to the visitors defending that advantage.

In their first outing following the midweek departure of Darrell Clarke, Barnsley travel to the One Call Stadium on Saturday to take on Mansfield Town.

The visitors have fallen eight points behind the playoff spots in the League One table following consecutive losses, while their hosts sit 18th in the midst of a winless run.

We say: Mansfield Town 1-2 Barnsley

Both sides head into the weekend’s meeting lacking confidence, but hoping to galvanise and reignite a playoff bid under new management, we back Barnsley to get back to winning ways against a Mansfield Town team who have not tasted victory since early January.

Looking to extend their lead at the top of the table, Birmingham City will travel to take on Northampton Town at Sixfields Stadium in League One on Saturday.

The Cobblers will be hoping to build on their win last time out, while the Blues will be aiming to make it three victories on the bounce.

We say: Northampton Town 1-2 Birmingham City

Northampton have definitely improved under Nolan, and the eight-point cushion between themselves and the relegation zone will come in handy this weekend as they are unlikely to take anything against Birmingham.

However, the Blues have not been as infallible away from St Andrews’ recently, and they may have to work for their points on Saturday.

Reading will be looking to extend their prolonged unbeaten run when they play host to Stevenage on Saturday afternoon.

At a time when the Royals sit in eighth position in the League One table, Stevenage are 10 points adrift in 13th place.

We say: Reading 2-1 Stevenage

Stevenage have reached a stage where only three points will do if they want to remain in the playoff hunt. However, that could work in Reading’s favour, leading us to predict another maximum haul for Hunt’s side.

Rotherham United and Exeter City meet at the New York Stadium on Saturday afternoon knowing that a win could all but secure their third-tier status for another 12 months.

These two clubs sit in 14th and 16th place in the League One table respectively, the latter 10 points above the drop zone with 11 games remaining.

We say: Rotherham United 2-1 Exeter City

Exeter will back themselves to earn a result in Yorkshire on the back of their recent resurgence. However, we feel that the Millers will edge out Caldwell’s side, potentially by the odd goal in three.

Two relegation-threatened sides will face off when Shrewsbury Town will welcome Burton Albion to New Meadow for Saturday’s League One contest.

The hosts are languishing at the bottom of the League One table with just 28 points to their name, while the Brewers are only five points better off in 21st position.

We say: Shrewsbury Town 0-1 Burton Albion

Both teams may be languishing in the relegation zone, but Burton can at least take confidence from the fact they have won two of their last three away matches, and we think they may conjure up another away win to boost their survival hopes and send Shrewsbury closer to the drop.

Wrexham travel to Adams Park on Saturday to take on Wycombe Wanderers in a crucial game at the top end of the League One table.

The hosts currently occupy second spot with the visitors only trailing on goal difference in the race for automatic promotion.

We say: Wycombe Wanderers 1-1 Wrexham

We cannot quite split these sides at Adams Park and would not be surprised to see an edgy contest end level, given the stakes in the race for automatic promotion.
