Chelsea have really shaken up the transfer window in recent years under Todd Boehly’s ownership.

Indeed, Chelsea in the transfer window have been like a bull in a china shop, they’ve been incredibly reckless, entertaining to watch and very disruptive.

Chelsea have a history of hijacking their rivals’ transfer plans, and, this week, they look like they’ve done it again.

Indeed, it’s been reported that Geovany Quenda is set to join Chelsea.

That comes after reports that Queda was on Manchester United’s radar.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Fabrizio Romano has been discussing Quenda’s potential move to Chelsea, and he says that Man United have been left shocked by this deal.

Manchester United shocked by Geovany Quenda to Chelsea move

Romano shared how Manchester United feel about Quenda’s potential move to Chelsea.

The journalist says that United are surprised by this move, claiming that the Red Devils did go for the winger in January.

“Manchester United wanted Geovany Quenda, they tried to get Geovany Quenda in the January transfer window,” Romano said.

“The budget for Man United in January for Financial Fair Play restrictions was around £35m, Man United tried to approach Sporting but the transfer fee was absolutely not enough to sign the player.

“Man United wanted Quenda, and Man United wrre also surprised when last night there was the here we go for Geovany Quenda to Chelsea. That’s why Chelsea wanted to move so fast on Quenda.”

Chelsea’s past transfer hijacks

Manchester United appear to be the latest team to have suffered the wrath of a Chelsea transfer hijack.

The Blues have pinched a number of signings from their rivals at the last minute in recent years.

Mykhaylo Mudryk looked set to join Arsenal before his late move to Chelsea, while Liverpool had a bid accepted for Moises Caicedo before Chelsea swooped in.

On top of that, Newcastle looked set to sign Tosin Adarabioyo before Chelsea got the defender, while, Pedro Neto was a concrete Tottenham target before his move to Stamford Bridge.
