Along with enjoying their win over Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium, one or two Arsenal fans might have also revelled in Tottenham Hotspur’s defeat in west London.

Tottenham kicked off at the same time as Arsenal, losing 2-0 at Fulham as Ange Postecoglou’s woes continue.

Fortunately for Mikel Arteta, his side enjoyed a much more straightforward win in their own London derby.

Jurrien Timber was excellent for Arsenal and the Gunners’ strong defence once again helped them to three points, even if it might be a little too late to catch Liverpool.

But there was no such luck for Spurs on the road, who fell at the hands of more than one former Arsenal player at Craven Cottage.

In their line up against Tottenham, Fulham had four former Arsenal players, with three of those starting behind Raul Jimenez in attack.

Bernd Leno was in goal and Willian, Emile Smith Rowe and Alex Iwobi were the trio behind the striker.

Willian in particular was excellent, a winger who never fit at Arsenal despite all the success he’s had in the Premier League otherwise.

But it was Hale End graduate Iwobi who took the chance to mock Tottenham after Fulham’s 2-0 win, remembering his Arsenal roots.

Posting on Instagram, Iwobi shared a caption of ‘What do we think of…”, aiming a dig at Spurs.

Iwobi appeared to make reference to Arsenal’s famous chant which suggests that Tottenham are not very good, in rather blunt terms.

How Alex Iwobi has changed since leaving Arsenal

It’s not too often that fans have called for Arsenal to re-sign players, and Iwobi definitely seemed to leave north London at the right point when he was initially sold to Everton.

But those who watch Iwobi on a regular basis may now believe that his profile could help Arteta’s squad.

It seems unlikely that the midfielder will ever head back to N5 but he does now play with so much composure in the middle, constantly making the right choices with the ball.

Interestingly, Iwobi admitted that he was supposed to join Celtic instead of Arsenal recently, a story that could have been a lot different.

All in all, Iwobi doesn’t regret leaving Arsenal, but he clearly still cares about the club and their rivalry with Spurs.
