Arsenal hosts Chelsea in the Premier League later today, with time running out for Mikel Arteta’s side to catch if they are to catch Liverpool in the title race.
With Arne Slot’s team battling it out in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley, the Gunners have the chance to narrow the gap on the Reds to 12 points – although Arteta does appear to have already conceded that might be too much for his side to overcome now.
And they’ll face a tough task as they look for a first league win in four games, with Chelsea aiming to strengthen its Champions League hopes for next season. Enzo Maresca’s side can go five points clear of Manchester City with a win today, and put themselves in a great position to finish in the top four.

Early team news
Arsenal is still struggling for options in attack, and Arteta will even have one fewer option than usual against Chelsea. That’s because Raheem Sterling is ineligible to play today, having joined the Gunners on loan from the Blues last summer.
Bukayo Saka, Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus remain out injured, leaving Arsenal desperately short of goals going forward. Meanwhile, Takehiro Tomiyasu is also out, but the rest of the Gunners’ squad is in good health.
As for Chelsea, Malo Gusto is a doubt with an ankle problem, while Nicolas Jackson, Marc Guiu, Noni Madueke and Omari Kellyman remain out injured. Mykhailo Mudryk is out suspended.
