Newcastle though will be determined to end its long, long wait for a major trophy, and Alexander Isak will be hoping to make a statement as he continues to be linked with a move away from the Magpies, with Liverpool among those linked with a transfer.
Both teams will have to compete with some big names missing, with Trent Alexander-Arnold ruled out through injury for the Reds, while Anthony Gordon misses the chance to come up against the team he supported as a youngster through suspension.
