The young keeper spilled a ball late that led to an Union Berlin equalizer — but Kompany does not want the focus on any one player.

Jonas Urbig finds himself at the center of attention after Bayern Munich’s 1-1 draw with Union Berlin on Saturday.

The young Bayern keeper, starting in place of the injured Manuel Neuer, made an unfortunate error in the game’s closing minutes that led to the 83rd-minute equalizer from Benedict Hollerbach, and two dropped points for the Rekordmeister.

But head coach Vincent Kompany isn’t having any of that, and took steps to shield Urbig — who performed capably just earlier in the week in a Champions League win over Bayer Leverkusen — from undue scrutiny.

“We experienced a truly great moment in Leverkusen,” Kompany said in post-match remarks captured by @iMiaSanMia. “Jonas played superbly, and we stayed calm.

“And now a moment like that? That’s part of football. For me, it’s always the team that matters. We have enough experience and top players to decide the game in a different way. For me, the focus is always on the guys with experience, and they have to win the game. That wasn’t the case today, but I don’t want to criticize everything either, because the guys actually delivered, but the result wasn’t enough.”
