Ayden Heaven breaks silence after Man Utd defender stretchered off with injury Sky Sports refused to air

Ayden Heaven took to Instagram on Sunday night after the in-form Manchester United defender suffered a serious injury during their Premier League clash against Leicester.

The 18-year-old, who impressed in games against Arsenal and Real Sociedad this month, was handed another start at the weekend as Ruben Amorim‘s side travelled to the King Power.

After a solid start to proceedings, Heaven was stretchered off in the 51st minute following a coming together with Leicester forward Patson Daka, which left the teenager in agony on the touchline.

In fact, Sky Sports decided against showing replays of the incident on their live broadcast, with Heaven eventually being helped off the pitch by medics before being replaced by Toby Collyer.

Speaking in his post-match interview, Ruben Amorim provided an update on Heaven’s injury.

“Well, we have to evaluate during the week,” he said. “He’s a young kid, he doesn’t know how to explain what he’s feeling, so it’s hard for us to know something.”

Amorim added: “He’s a bit a little bit more calm now, but we have to assess during the week. But he’s doing a great job and it’s a shame if he has something for quite a long [time]. We wish him all the best.”

After being given his first Premier League start – just three days after a solid display against Real Sociedad – Amorim praised Heaven for his latest performance.

“Today was for me the most difficult game for him, because he plays so well against Real Sociedad, and we expect always for these young kids to relax a little bit,” the Portuguese head coach added.

“But he was so focused and he played quite well, so let’s hope for the best.”

Heaven left the King Power with his foot in a protective boot, according to the Manchester Evening News, who claim the defender walked out of the stadium unaided.

And just after 11pm, the defender left a comment on Rasmus Hojlund‘s post on Instagram. He simply wrote: “Deserved” after the Dane broke his recent goal drought, which brought a huge response from United fans.

One said: “Get well soon Ayden,” while another commented: “Speedy recovery bro.”

Heaven’s injury adds to the ongoing crisis at United, who were without four central defenders for their trip to Leicester, with Jonny Evans, Lisandro Martinez, Harry Maguire and Leny Yoro all sidelined.
