As Tottenham Hotspur lost 2-0 against Fulham on Sunday, more questions will be asked about Ange Postecoglou’s future.
This season is evidence that perhaps Tottenham just cannot become a consistent outfit under Postecoglou.
After Spurs’ three consecutive wins against Brentford, Manchester United and Ipswich Town in the Premier League, they have dropped points in their last three games by losing against Manchester City and Fulham while drawing to AFC Bournemouth.

Ange Postecoglou must be frustrated as he would have expected his Tottenham side to use their recent 3-1 victory against AZ Alkmaar as a springboard to return to winning ways in the league at Craven Cottage.
But goals from Rodrigo Muniz and Ryan Sessegnon meant the former Celtic boss cut a frustrated figure, with Postecoglou calling Yves Bissouma out — despite previously expressing his stance of not criticising players in public.
Jamie O’Hara says Tottenham will sack Ange Postecoglou if they lose to Eintracht Frankfurt
But the emotions of Tottenham losing their 15th league game of the season against Fulham seemed to have got the better of Ange Postecoglou.
It seems like redemption of any kind in the league is a ship that has well and truly sailed for the North Londoners and their only saving grace remains the possibility of winning the Europa League.
Jamie O’Hara feels that in the event that Tottenham are knocked out of the competition by Eintracht Frankfurt in the quarter-finals, Ange Postecoglou is likely to get the chop.
O’Hara told Sky Sports News: “It was a really poor performance again from Spurs. We’ve been inconsistent all season. Lacklustre in possession, no real edge to our game, no bite, Fulham are a good side and they’re organised but you’ve got to take the game to them. I understand you’ve got the Europa League and that we have put all our eggs in that basket but the Premier League is bread and butter.”
“The standard of the performances in the Premier League are nowhere near good enough and for me, Ange is clinging on to his job right now. He really is and look, we’ve got to play Frankfurt in the quarter-finals, they’re a good team, I think they’re fourth at the moment, playing some really good football. That is a tough game.”
“And if we go out then, I think it’s probably see you later to Ange Postecoglou at Spurs, I do because I just don’t see a way back. Is he getting the best out of his players, we’re getting players back fit.”
Fabrizio Romano shares fresh Ange Postecoglou sack update
The Tottenham players do not dislike Postecoglou’s footballing philosophy as they did under the likes of Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte.
But ultimately, the environment at Spurs must not be too positive as they have made dropping points a habit this season.
Fabrizio Romano has revealed that despite Tottenham’s struggles under Ange Postecoglou, they are not planning to sack him and are solely focused on the Europa League at present.
Romano told GiveMeSport: “At the moment, Tottenham’s full focus is on the present. Especially the Europa League, as a crucial target for Spurs this season. Nothing else coming from sources close to the club.”
