West Ham United and AC Milan are reportedly among the clubs who are circling for one of Burnley‘s star defenders.
Scott Parker‘s side have been permanently in the headlines this campaign, partly through their indifferent attacking exploits at a time when they have put together a prolonged unbeaten streak in the Championship.
Despite only sitting in third position in the standings, the Clarets have gone 25 games without suffering defeat, largely due to their incredible defensive performances.
As well as recently going 12 league games without conceding a goal, Burnley have shipped just 11 goals in 38 second-tier fixtures as they bid to return to the Premier League.
However, according to journalist Alan Nixon, who was commenting on his Patreon account, Burnley face a tough test to retain the services of one of their key players.

Teams circling for Esteve?
The report alleges that Maxime Esteve is attracting attention from the Premier League and Serie A ahead of the summer transfer window.
Esteve has been an ever-present – the only such player in Burnley’s squad this season – in Championship starting lineups since Parker’s arrival.
He also recently scored a crucial goal in a 2-1 win over Cardiff City, but clubs are taking an interest due to his displays at the back.
When signing from Montpellier HSC at the start of 2024, Esteve cost €12m, but Burnley officials would realistically demand at least double that if teams express an interest in the summer.
With Esteve on a contract until 2029, the North-West outfit may decide to shun any offers for his signature if they secure promotion to the Premier League.

What is the best option for Esteve?
Nixon alleges that West Ham, Everton and AC Milan are currently the main suitors, the Italian giants already said to have sent scouts to assess the ability of the player.
Depending on how they finish the season, Milan may undergo somewhat of a rebuild in the summer, and Esteve is seemingly viewed as a potential option.
Graham Potter is searching for ways to strengthen his West Ham backline with the Hammers likely to undergo their own rebuild ahead of 2025-26. Esteve may fit the criteria that Potter is looking for.
Esteve may only consider a move to Everton if Jarrad Branthwaite moves elsewhere. The Toffees possess the sixth-best defensive record in the Premier League, largely due to the partnership that Branthwaite has formed with James Tarkowski.
