Arne Slot is expected to make changes at Liverpool this summer.
A worrying streak of late, which saw Liverpool knocked out of the UEFA Champions League by PSG before losing the Carabao Cup final to Newcastle, has flagged up a few weak spots in the squad.
The attacking department needs a new dimension, with Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez proving to be very frustrating, while a new right-back is needed. The drop in quality from having to deploy Jarell Quansah in that area against Newcastle, when elite talents like Trent Alexander-Arnold and Conor Bradley usually play there, must be addressed.
Jeremie Frimpong has been linked to Liverpool as an option to bolster the right-back department, and an interesting exchange with Ryan Gravenberch has now occurred amidst these rumours.
Jeremie Frimpong teases Liverpool fans with scouse accent
A story by Sky Sports back in December 2024 claimed that Frimpong has agreed to join Liverpool at the end of the campaign – with Bayer Leverkusen ready to let the Dutchman depart.
Now, the Bayer Leverkusen No.30 has been captured on camera putting on a scouse accent when meeting Gravenberch for international duty with the Netherlands – adding fuel to the fire.

TBR Football understand Slot wants Frimpong with Alexander-Arnold expected to join Real Madrid when his contract expires this summer, and the man from Amsterdam, who has a £33m price tag, would be an exciting addition when you consider his numbers for Bayer Leverkusen in recent times.
Jeremie Frimpong could elevate Arne Slot’s Liverpool to new heights with his unerring end product
Bayer Leverkusen almost secured the treble last season without losing a game, and Frimpong was a huge part of their success under Xabi Alonso.
The 24-year-old remarkably scored 14 goals and provided ten assists in 47 appearances from right-back, and has continued his fine form with four goals and 11 assists in 40 games so far this season.
Not only is Frimpong clearly a great player, but he is also already familiar with Gravenberch, Cody Gakpo and Virgil van Dijk – while Slot is a fellow Dutchman too – so a move to Liverpool certainly feels possible.
