Chelsea winger Mykhaylo Mudryk is allegedly the subject of surprise interest from a Bundesliga club.
Since arriving at Stamford Bridge in January 2023 for a fee that could reach in the region of £89m, Mudryk has failed to justify his price-tag.
Just 10 goals and nine assists have been contributed from his 73 appearances in all competitions, and the Ukraine international is currently facing the possibility of a prolonged spell on the sidelines.
At the back end of last year, reports emerged that Mudryk had failed a drugs test and he is serving a provisional ban until the ‘B’ sample is officially revealed.
With Mudryk having not represented Chelsea since November, there is uncertainty as to why there has not been further developments with the case.
Nevertheless, it appears that has not stopped a fellow European giant from identifying the 24-year-old as a future target.

Bundesliga move a possibility?
According to Fichajes, Bayer Leverkusen are prepared to hand Mudryk an opportunity to kick-start his career, whenever that may be.
The report alleges that Leverkusen would be interested in negotiating a loan deal for the attacker should he be able to return to the pitch over the coming months.
Xabi Alonso is said to be convinced that he can get the best out of the inconsistent winger, providing that the head coach remains at Leverkusen past the end of the campaign.
There is generally the understanding that Alonso may choose to walk away, regardless of whether Leverkusen can close down the current six-point gap to Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich.
With key figures in the senior ranks also expected to move onto pastures new, Leverkusen face going through a transitional period, with or without the addition of Mudryk.

Would Chelsea give green light?
In Mudryk’s absence, Chelsea’s wingers have hardly impressed with only Noni Madueke viewed as a regular first-choice pick on the flanks.
Therefore, Mudryk could theoretically challenge for a place if and when he is given the green light to do so, but Chelsea already have two new faces ready to join the squad.
Estevao Willian and Kendry Paez are in line to move ahead of Mudryk in the pecking order, which will only increase the chances of a loan deal materialising.
With Mudryk failing to showcase his best form in West London, it is not plausible to expect any team to complete a permanent deal for his services.
