Liverpool has signed off for the international break off the back of an awful few days which saw it exit the Champions League and lose the Carabao Cup final at Wembley.
The Reds were the pre-game favorites to clinch glory at the national stadium but goals from Newcastle United duo Alexander Isak and Dan Burn secured a first major domestic trophy for the Magpies since they won the FA Cup in 1955.
Federico Chiesa scored in stoppage time to hand the Reds hope of taking the game to extra time, but they could not find a second goal before the final whistle. In truth, Liverpool didn’t deserve anything more than a defeat.
Next up is a visit of Everton but that doesn’t come until the start of next month. In the meantime, you can expect plenty of transfer rumors with Milos Kerkez, Jeremie Frimpong, Morten Frendrup and Victor Osimhen among the names in the gossip columns over recent days.
