Liverpool have reportedly done ‘due diligence’ on three Premier League attackers ahead of the summer transfer window.
Last week was one to forget for Arne Slot and Liverpool after two trophy hopes went up in smoke.
The Reds were knocked out in the Champions League by Paris Saint Germain before producing a dismal performance in the Carabao Cup final, which Newcastle United won 2-1.
Liverpool will now have to make sure their 12-point lead at the top of the Premier League table doesn’t slip away with just nine matches left to play.
Looking ahead to the summer, it has been claimed that Liverpool could overhaul their attacking options.
As reported by Sky Sports, the likes of Diogo Jota, Federico Chiesa, Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez could all be offloaded.
In addition, the future of Mohamed Salah is yet to be resolved, the 32-year-old is currently set to walk away from Anfield for free when his contract expires at the end of the 24/25 season.
In turn, it has been claimed that Liverpool are doing due diligence on the likes of Alexander Isak, Bryan Mbeumo and Joao Pedro.
The report read: “Were the Premier League’s top scorer (Salah) to also leave, then that would leave a sizeable rebuilding job in attack for (Richard) Hughes (LFC Sporting Director) to undertake, with the Reds reportedly doing due diligence on Newcastle’s Alexander Isak, Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo and Brighton’s Joao Pedro.”

Speaking about his side’s recent disappointments, Reds boss Slot said: “Probably if you can beat us in that style of play you are probably the best in Europe at the moment. They still have to show if they still can do this in the upcoming two or three months. But I want to make clear one more time that the week started off really well by us beating Southampton.
“That’s why we extended our lead to 12 points [in the Premier League] with nine games to go. You know if you go far in tournaments that the opposition you face gets stronger and stronger. Even Liverpool can lose football games, that’s what can happen.”
