Report: Arsenal’s £6m attacker’s future at the club has become less certain after what has happened this season

One of Arsenal’s best attackers has been out of form this season and subsequently, his future at the Emirates is now uncertain.

The Gunners are looking to make big changes to their forward line in the summer and that could involve some of their current options being moved on.

New sporting director Andrea Berta will be the man tasked with the job of refreshing Mikel Arteta’s attack and he could decide to offload some key players who haven’t been performing this term.

One of those players is Gabriel Martinelli who has struggled to hit the same heights which saw him become one of the Premier League’s most feared forwards.

Gabriel Martinelli’s future at Arsenal is now ‘less clear’

Gabriel Martinelli’s future at Arsenal is now deemed to be ‘less clear’ following his poor performances for the North London club this season, according to The Times.

The Brazilain’s current contract runs until 2027 although the Gunners do have the option to extend it but another year.

However, Berta may view Martinelli, who Thierry Henry claims doesn’t get enough credit, as an asset the North London club could offload in order to fund their hunt for an elite centre-forward and winger.

The 23-year-old has just 12 Premier League goals since the start of last season and his form has left the club questioning whether they should continue with him.

TBR Football revealed earlier this month that Arsenal were open to selling Martinelli in the summer with several replacements being identified.

Who could replace Gabriel Martinelli at Arsenal?

Nico Williams is a player who Arsenal had contacted, as reported by TBR Football last month, but the Spaniard is just one of a few wingers they appreciate.

Amongst the other names on Arsenal’s list of targets are Leroy Sane, Matheus Cunha, Mohammed Kudus, Ademola Lookman, Kingsley Coman and Takefusa Kubo.

Berta has already informed Arsenal he wants to sign Cunha having also been the man to bring the Brazilian to Atletico Madrid back in 2021.
