Arsenal are set to open talks with Bukayo Saka about a new contract
Although the winger has been out of action since December with a torn hamstring, he remains a key player for Mikel Arteta. He continues to lead the team in the number of assists this season and there are some who will argue that his absence dealt a terminal blow to their title ambitions.
His existing contract runs until 2027, but given the interest from other clubs the last time a new deal for him on the table, the Gunners are keen to try and get him tied down early.
They will also be mindful of how Liverpool have allowed the contracts of three of their stars in Mo Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk to run down, and wlll not want to find themselves in a similar situation with a player who remains the poster boy for the Mikel Artata project.
