Leicester City became the first team in Premier League history to lose seven consecutive home games without scoring a goal.
Ruud van Nistelrooy’s side lost 3-0 against Manchester United on Sunday and will spend the March international break in 19th place in the Premier League with just 17 points.
With just nine matchweeks remaining, relegation to the Championship looks certain, especially as the Foxes are nine points behind 17th-placed Wolverhampton Wanderers.
When Steve Cooper was dismissed in November 2024, fans might have expected a resurgent second half of the season, but boss Van Nistelrooy has only collected seven points from a possible 48.
The Dutchman also set an unwanted record against United, with the club becoming the first side in Premier League history to have lost seven consecutive home fixtures without managing to find the back of the net.

Is this the worst Leicester City team in Premier League history?
Leicester have lost 13 of their last 14 matches in the Premier League and with consecutive games against Manchester City, Newcastle United, Brighton & Hove Albion and Liverpool to come in their next four, it would be surprising if the team took any points at all in the next weeks.
At their current points trajectory, the Foxes would end the season on 22 points, but based on their last 14 outings they would only total 19 points.
Both tallies would represent the club’s lowest ever return in the Premier League, fewer than the 28 points they achieved in 2001–02.
In fact, 22 points would be their joint worst total in any division since 1891–92 when they tallied just 13 points in the Midland Football League.
Leicester are on track to score 33 goals in the Premier League this term, and that return would represent their least productive season in front of goal since they finished last in 20th place in 2001–02 when they scored 30 times.
Van Nistelrooy’s side are also on course to concede 85 goals in 2024-25, and that figure would make them the worst Foxes side from a defensive standpoint in the history of the Premier League.
Though they have already surpassed Derby County’s infamous points tally of 11 in 2007-08 – the lowest ever return in the league – it is difficult to suggest that this is not the worst Leicester team in the history of the Premier League.
