Napoli are reportedly considering using Victor Osimhen in their attempts to sign Rasmus Hojlund from Manchester United during this summer’s transfer window.
Osimhen’s future is currently the subject of much speculation, as his loan deal with Galatasaray is due to expire at the end of June.
The Nigeria international has been in excellent form for the Turkish giants during the 2024-25 campaign, scoring 26 times and registering five assists in 30 appearances, and according to Galatasaray chief Abdullah Kavukcu, the striker will tell the club next month whether he is interested in a permanent move.
“Osimhen will inform us of his decision in April,” Calcio Napoli 1926 quotes Kavukcu as saying. “At the moment, the top five clubs in the world have also shown interest in him.”
“Osimhen’s arrival was a dream come true. Now he is here and playing for us. In January, there was talk of him leaving, but he stayed because he loves Galatasaray. Today, he is the player all our rivals would like to have.”
Man United are believed to lead the Premier League interest in the 26-year-old, who will allegedly have a £62m release clause in his Napoli contract during this summer’s transfer window.

Hojlund, Osimhen ‘could swap clubs’ this summer
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Napoli are showing an interest in Hojlund, who has found it difficult to make his mark for Man United this season, managing only three goals in the Premier League.
The report claims that Man United would want £50m for the Denmark international this summer, which would price the Italian side out of a move, but Osimhen could be offered to the Red Devils as a makeweight.
Hojlund ended a 21-game run without a goal when he scored for Man United against Leicester City in the Premier League on Sunday night, and the forward said earlier this week that he is “very happy” at Old Trafford.
“I’m focused on the task with Ruben, because that project is incredibly exciting, but Erik was of course one of the reasons why I moved to Manchester United,” Tipsbladet quotes Hojlund as saying.
“He was doing something good and was a talented coach, but it didn’t work out, and that’s how it is. I’m still very happy to be at Manchester United. It’s the club I’ve always dreamed of playing for. And I’m really happy for Ruben – he’s a cool character and a cool person.”

Should Man United let Hojlund leave?
Hojlund has a record of 24 goals and four assists in 82 appearances for Man United, following on from the 10 goals and four assists that he managed in 34 appearances for Atalanta BC.
There is no question that the Dane is better than what he has shown for much of this season, and Man United should be looking to keep hold of the attacker, as he has plenty of room for improvement.
However, if the chance to bring in Osimhen opens up this summer, then it would be difficult for the Red Devils to reject a swap deal of that magnitude considering that the Nigerian is one of the leading forwards in world football.
Osimhen has made 133 appearances for Napoli, scoring 76 goals and registering 12 assists, while he has made a huge impression for Galatasaray during the current campaign.
