Arsenal need to have a big summer transfer window.
Indeed, Arsenal have plenty of work to do this summer, and a lot of that will centre around bringing in new attacking reinforcements.
A new centre-forward is a priority for Arsenal. Alexander Isak has been linked, while Arsenal could go back for Ollie Watkins this summer after their failed January bid.
Meanwhile Arsenal also want other attacking reinforcements.
Rafael Leao has been linked to Arsenal, while Arsenal have scouted Takefusa Kubo recently too.
Another player who has been linked on-and-off with Arsenal is Mohammed Kudus.
The West Ham star has been on Arsenal’s radar in the past, but according to Ben Jacobs, speaking on the Highbury Squad YouTube channel, Arsenal aren’t currently planning a move for Kudus.
Arsenal not in for Mohammed Kudus
Jacobs said that Arsenal will not be going for Mohammed Kudus this summer.
The £38m man is apparently much more likely to head to Saudi Arabia this summer.
Meanwhile, according to Jacobs, Matheus Cunha and Nico Williams are two strong alternative options.
“Of those players mentioned, Ben, what’s your hunch?” Jacobs was asked.
“Kudus, no, I think there will be firm Saudi interest in Kudus after Al-Nassr tried for Mitoma, they made a late approach to West Ham for Kudus.
“There will be significant Saudi interest that may be difficult for West Ham to turn down. I’m not aware of too much between Arsenal and Kudus at this stage.
“That left side will come down to Nico Williams, at the moment, and Cunha. What I’m told is that Berta really likes Cunha, There’s a release clause at £62.5m, that stays the same if Wolves go down or stay up.
Kudus compared to Matheus Cunha and Nico Williams
Kudus, Cunha and Williams are three very talented footballers.
However, if Arsenal have to choose between this trio, then it’s clear which player they should be going for.
Indeed, even the quickest of glances at these players’ stats shows you which player should be the Gunners’ priority target.
Matheus Cunha | Mohammed Kudus | Nico Williams | |
---|---|---|---|
Games | 26 | 24 | 24 |
Goals | 13 | 3 | 4 |
Assists | 4 | 1 | 5 |
Matheus Cunha has been incredible this season, and a fee of £62.5m is a snip for a player of this ability.
Mikel Arteta has been keen on Nico Williams for a long time, but given how Cunha has performed this season, Arsenal should pivot and make the Wolves star their priority target.
As for Kudus, this has been an underwhelming campaign from the West Ham star, and it sounds like a move to Saudi Arabia could be on the cards in the summer.
