Mohamed Salah was one of Jurgen Klopp’s best and most trusted players at Liverpool.
Yes, Klopp and Salah had a bit of a bust up towards the end of last season, but, for the most part, Klopp loved Salah.
Salah and Klopp are still in touch to this day, but, at one point, Salah did disagree with one tactical instruction Klopp tried to give him.
Indeed, speaking on the BBC Match of the Day Top 10 Podcast, Gary Lineker has shared some insight into a conversation he had with Salah, and he spoke about how he disagreed with one of Klopp’s tactical ideas.

Mohamed Salah wasn’t keen on Jurgen Klopp’s tactical plan
Lineker spoke about the conversation he had with Salah.
The pundit chatted with Salah about his time playing on the wing for Barcelona, and the Egyptian told him that Jurgen Klopp once tried to use him in a similar way.
However, Salah wasn’t keen to play in such a wide role, and he politely told his manager that he didn’t fancy it.
“I spoke to Mo when I went to do an interview with Arne Slot at Liverpool.
“We chatted away for a while, and he asked me about my time at Barcelona and my numbers. I got 20 in my first two seasons, and he said that was good.
“My last season Cruyff put me on the right, but I had to play wide right with white on my boots.
“He said, Jurgen tried to do that with me once and he said ‘oh no thanks.’
Mohamed Salah record under Jurgen Klopp
Klopp once tried to change Salah’s role at Liverpool to play wider, and that is a strnage switch it must be said.
Indeed, Klopp seemed to know how to get the best out of Salah from day one at Liverpool, and that’s in that narrow winger role, drifting inside into the box.
Salah broke the Premier League scoring record in his first season at Liverpool, and he had a stellar record under Klopp throughout his time at Anfield.

Klopp wasn’t necessarily huge on experimenting tactically at Liverpool, but, at one point, he did want to vary things up with Salah.
The winger wasn’t so keen on the switch, and, ultimately, it didn’t end up happening, and that is probably for the best considering just how good Salah was under Klopp.
