There could be a lot of movement at Liverpool this summer.
The Reds are about to win the Premier League title this season. Arne Slot deserves enormous credit for that, but the last week has shown the world that the Reds need more.
Reports have claimed that Liverpool are ready to sell five players this summer – Caoimhin Kelleher, Wataru Endo, Harvey Elliott, Federico Chiesa and Diogo Jota.
To add to that, the futures of their big three – Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk – are still up in the air as well.
There is now an update on one of them.
Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold to Real Madrid latest
Alexander-Arnold is the likeliest player to leave Liverpool this summer.
The Englishman, hailed as ‘unbelievable‘ by Slot, will become a free agent in July, and there has been a lot of speculation about his future over the last few months.
It is no secret that Real Madrid are keen to sign Alexander-Arnold, and the Spanish giants tried their luck in the January transfer window.
AS claim now that Liverpool refused to let him go then, but there is bad news for Reds fans now.
The report reveals that Alexander-Arnold to Real Madrid is ’99 per cent done’. There is a ‘total’ agreement between all parties and all that’s left is the signature.
The defender already knows the salary that Real Madrid are ready to pay him and the contract length on offer as well.
It has further been claimed that the only thing that could stop Alexander-Arnold from joining Liverpool now is a late change of heart, but that is not expected.
Will the injured Alexander-Arnold play for Liverpool again this season?
Alexander-Arnold suffered an injury before the Carabao Cup final, and the England international missed that game at Wembley as a result.
The full-back is not fit to join up with the England squad either and is currently recovering from his problem at Liverpool.
There have been concerns over whether Alexander-Arnold’s injury could keep him out for the rest of the season, meaning that he has already played his last game for the club.
But, Slot has eased those concerns and has claimed that he expects his number 66 to back in action before the end of the campaign.
“He’s still to be assessed for how long it’s going to take but we do expect him back before the end of the season,” Slot said before the cup final, as per ESPN.
