Bayern Munich’s Leon Goretzka is proving his doubters wrong…
German national team boss Julian Nagelsmann is proud of the way that Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka has made resounding comeback for both club and country.
“It’s generally advisable in life not to give up on everything just like that. We’re brought by this vibe of life to quickly do something new when the old one isn’t working. Leon has proven that it’s worth persisting, pushing through the valleys and staying out of the many discussions – I think that was his smartest move, not constantly speaking out and commenting on everything. Because unfortunately, that doesn’t make things any better,” Nagelsmann said (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
Goretzka’s game-winner was (obviously) integral to Germany’s 2-1 win over Italy on Thursday. Now, the 30-year-old must maintain his splendid form and continue this solid run of momentum that he has built up.
If he can put in another strong showing against Italy on Sunday, Goretzka will position himself nicely for another call-up to Germany.
