Lee then followed it up with four consecutive victories.
At UFC 194, he suffered his first-ever knockout loss, at the hands of Leonardo Santos, thereby seeing his winning streak broken as well.
Lee once again bounced back with 5 back-to-back wins, which included an important submission win over Michael Chiesa in June 2017.
This earned ‘The Motown Phenom’ a shot at the Interim Lightweight title against Tony Ferguson at UFC 216.
However, Lee ended up losing to ‘El Cucuy’ via. submission due to a triangle choke.
At UFC 244 in November 2019, Lee famously handed Gillespie his first-ever defeat with a brutal head kick.
