Leicester are just three points above the relegation spot after winning three, drawing three and losing 10 of their 16 league matches this season.

The Foxes have experienced contrasting fortunes between home and away form this season, having collected 10 of their 12 points from their seven home league games.

Meanwhile, they have lost each of their previous seven WSL away matches, including their last two outings against Manchester United and Chelsea.

The Red Devils recorded a 2-0 victory over the Foxes, before a Yuka Momiki effort proved to be a mere consolation in a 3-1 defeat against Chelsea on March 5.

They will now return to the familiar surroundings of the King Power Stadium, where they have the chance to record three consecutive home victories for the first time in their WSL history.

Brighton are 10 points better off than Leicester after winning six, drawing four and losing six of their 16 WSL games this term.

The Seagulls recently endured a seven-game winless league run before they returned to winning ways in last Sunday’s away clash against Tottenham Hotspur.

Fran Kirby‘s first-half effort proved enough to guide the Seagulls to their first top-flight victory since beating West Ham United 3-2 in November.

After enjoying a successful trip to London last weekend, Brighton will head back on their travels for Sunday’s encounter, with the visitors looking to win back-to-back away league games for the first time since March 2024.

They are also hoping to complete a league double over Leicester after recording a narrow 1-0 victory in November’s reverse fixture.

Team News

Leicester boss Amandine Miquel has confirmed that Jutta Rantala and Lena Petermann are still recovering from their respective injury issues.

Saori Takarada is set to replace midfielder Ruby Mace, who was forced off with a knee issue in the defeat against Chelsea earlier this month.

Noemie Mouchon remains a long-term absentee, while there are doubts surrounding the availability of Sari Kees and Hlin Eiriksdottir.

As for the visitors, they are expected to be without the services of Jorelyn Carabali, Bex Rayner, Aisha Masaka and Bruna Vilamala.

The midfield duo of Vicky Losada and Jelena Cankovic are closing in on a return to fitness, but it remains to be seen if the pair will be ready for Sunday’s contest.

Forward Nikita Parris will continue to lead the line for the visitors, with the striker looking to add to the 10 competitive goals she has scored this season.

Leicester City Women possible starting lineup:
Leitzig; Nevin, Howard, Thibaud, Ale; Cayman, Momiki; O’Brien, Takarada, Goodwin; Cain

Brighton & Hove Albion Women possible starting lineup:
Loeck; Thorisdottir, Oslisagers, Bergsvand; McLauchlan, Kirby, Symonds, Noordam, Pattinson; Haley, Parris

We say: Leicester City Women 2-1 Brighton & Hove Albion Women

Leicester have won three of their previous five home league matches, and with that in mind, we think they could produce another strong home performance to edge out Brighton in Sunday’s clash at the King Power Stadium.
