The German national team could use him
The German national team has seen a major shift in its footballing attitude, mostly after Bayern Munich’s former coach Julian Nagelsmann took over and implemented his own playing style.
The currently developing team owes a lot to the staff behind the scenes, one of whom is Rudi Völler, a German footballing legend. Völler is currently the Director of Germany’s national team, and is responsible for quite a lot. His contract, however, is expiring soon, and there are speculations as to his whether or not he will extend. Nagelsmann was asked about Völler and the negotiations to remain as director.
“We have a special relationship. He’s an incredibly good and kind person who has no sensitivities and tries to create a good atmosphere for all of us. We really enjoy working with him, but he decides his own future. I would be very happy if he continued, but he’s old enough not to need my advice,” Nagelsmann said (captured by @iMiaSanMia).
Considering the direction that the squad is going in right now, it’s probably not the best idea to change anything about the team and staff itself. But as Nagelsmann said, the future is undecided.
