The annual charity game, which helps to raise funds for the LFC Foundation, pits the Premier League rivals against each other on Merseyside. Sir Kenny Dalglish takes charge of the Reds, ably assisted by Ian Rush, John Aldridge and John Barnes, while Roberto Di Matteo leads the Blues.

Both sides have named star-studded squads for the game, with Gerrard undoubtedly the biggest name on show from a local perspective. The former Liverpool captain dons the armband once again, and is joined by the likes of Sami Hyypia, Dirk Kuyt and Peter Crouch.

Chelsea boasts plenty of big names as well. Gianfranco Zola, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, Claude Makelele and Gary Cahill among those turning out for the visitors.

And there will be history made at Anfield, with the first women’s players making their appearance in a Legends game. Natasha Dowie is in line to become the first woman to represent the Liverpool team, while Katie Chapman is set to feature for Chelsea.

It’s set to be a momentous day at Anfield, and all the action will be available to watch for free.

The game is available on both Liverpool’s YouTube and Facebook channels, giving supporters the chance to catch all the action. Fans who are subscribed to LFCTV will also be able to watch the game on TV, as well as stream it via LFCTV GO.

If you’re a Chelsea fan, you can also watch the game on pay-per-view on the official Chelsea app and Chelseafc.com. A match pass costs £5.99 in the UK, with all proceeds going to the Chelsea Foundation.

The game has sold out 59,000 tickets at Anfield and will raise millions of pounds for people around the Liverpool city region. The LFC Foundation supported over 127,000 people last year through its programmes, which aim to tackle social inequalities in the local communities.

“I’ve still got lots of friends in and around the city,” Peter Crouch said ahead of the game. “I’m up here quite a lot visiting family and friends and I see the work that’s getting done. It’s down to the Foundation in the city.

“Of course, like most cities now, it needs help in areas and the work that’s done here… It’s fantastic for us to play in a match at Anfield again, but obviously the bigger cause is the surrounding areas and they do so much work and all for the good. It’s a great fun day out for the fans and for us as players, but obviously the bigger picture is the foundation.”
