This keeps getting worse…
Not good.
According to a report from Sport Bild journalists Tobi Altschäffland Nico Linner (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer’s injury setback is worse than was expected.
Neuer is now unlikely to be ready to face Inter Milan in the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinals:
Manuel Neuer’s injury setback is worse than first thought. Internally, Bayern are not expecting him to be fit in time for the first leg against Inter. There’s hope he would be available for the second leg.
Sky Sport journalists Florian Plettenberg and Kerry Hau (as captured by @iMiaSanMia) added more information, which indicates that Neuer could miss as many as two Bundesliga games as well — plus, Neuer’s return for the second leg of the Inter Milan tie is not a certainty either. One positive from the Sky Sport report is that Jonas Urbig is expected to be ready:
Manuel Neuer could miss the next two Bundesliga games against St. Pauli and Augsburg. A comeback against Inter in the Champions League is still possible. Jonas Urbig has recovered from his foot injury and is set to return to team training next week.
