Federico Chiesa’s dad has spoken about his son’s current situation, insisting the winger is “very happy” at Anfield.
Chiesa’s first season at Liverpool has been far from what he or the club expected. The Italian winger, who moved from Juventus for £12.5 million ($16.1M) has made only three Premier League appearances, failing to start a single league match.
This disappointing campaign stands in stark contrast to Liverpool’s success under Arne Slot, as they sit 12 points clear at the top of the Premier League. However, Chiesa’s lack of impact has raised concerns, with reports already linking him to a potential move away from Anfield, less than a year after joining.
Despite the speculation surrounding his future, the27-year-old’s father has emphasized that there is no rush for his son to leave Liverpool. According to him, Chiesa is happy with life on Merseyside, and he remains settled at the club.
Speaking to Tuttosport, Chiesa’s dad said: “I can guarantee that Federico’s very happy at Liverpool. We hope he can win the Premier League, we have no regrets about Juventus. He’s so happy at Liverpool.”
Chiesa is likely disappointed by his omission from Italy’s squad this month, especially with the Euro 2020 winners facing Germany in a crucial Nations League quarter-final. Despite his potential, Chiesa wasn’t included in Luciano Spalletti’s squad, a snub that adds to his frustrations after a challenging season at Liverpool.
Spalletti has expressed disappointment with Chiesa’s season, commenting that the winger has “failed” in England., given his limited 25 minutes of Premier League action.

He said: “Unfortunately, he has failed in England. He has only played 25 minutes. He must be more consistent. He needs more defensive phase.” Despite Luciano Spalletti’s criticism of his season, Chiesa is on the verge of winning a Premier League title with Liverpool.
The Reds, under Arne Slot, could clinch the league crown as early as Sunday, April 13, when they host West Ham at Anfield. For Liverpool to secure their second league title in five years, they need five more wins and a draw. The scenario depends on Arsenal dropping points, but Slot’s side is in a commanding position, currently 12 points clear at the top.
