Ethan Nwaneri is set to be handed a five year deal by Arsenal, to fend off interest from competing clubs like Manchester City and Chelsea

Nwaneri who is regarded as one of the most outstanding young talents in the Premier League has just celebrated his 18th birthday, meaning that he can now sign a full professional contract.

He has scored eight goals in 20 appearances this season, and the absence of Bukayo Saka with a hamstring injury means that he has been deputising for him on the right-wing, even though he is more of an attacking midfielder.’

Mikel Arteta has been trying to manage his minutes, conscious that he is still young and is subject ot fatigue, but injuries mean that he has played more than he might otherwise have expected, snd he has grasped the opportunity with both hands.

The Gunners have previously had to ward off interest in his services from City before, but now they want to secure the immediate future of one of their most highly prized young assets.
