Tottenham Hotspur have suffered a disastrous season and there will be no surprise that the club go through major transformations in the upcoming summer transfer window. Quite a number of players might be leaving the club to get Tottenham the funds to make signings that they need. Ange Postecoglou will try to create the best squad possible so that they can fight for the top-four spot in the next season.

Aston Villa want to sign Yves Bissouma from Tottenham

According to a report by Ben Jacobs on Give Me Sport, Aston Villa are interested in signing Spurs midfielder Yves Bissouma in the summer. The club want to sign a classy midfielder and they feel Bissouma will be the perfect candidate to fit into their midfield in the next season. He was one of the best midfielders in the Premier League before he joined Spurs in 2022.

However, the Malian has had a mixed tenure at the club since making his move. The 28-year-old has finally somewhat settled into his role. The club, meanwhile, wants to sell him in the summer if they get a decent offer for the midfielder. Villa have a number of players in the midfield, so it is quite surprising that they still want to make a move for Bissouma.

Tottenham’s Malian midfielder is a powerhouse in the engine room. His athleticism leaps off the pitch—covering the ground with relentless energy and muscling opponents off the ball. Defensively, the midfielder is a pitbull, snapping into tackles and intercepting with razor-sharp timing. On the ball, Bissouma is silky—his dribbling glides past pressure, and his passing, while not flashy, keeps play ticking over.

The 28-year-old has a knack for breaking lines with forward bursts, adding bite to transitions. Consistency has been his hurdle, but at his best, Bissouma is a midfield dynamo: tenacious, smooth, and vital to controlling the game’s tempo. He has scored 2 goals in 22 matches so far in the Premier League 2024/2025 season.

What should Spurs do?

It should be a good decision if Tottenham decide to sell Bissouma if they get a decent offer from Aston Villa. He has not flourished in his role for Spurs and if Villa want him, they should be letting him leave. Spurs can use the money to buy players who can be a good fit for the club and turn around the fortunes. However, if they don’t make a decent profit from the offer from Villa, then they must re think whether to sell him or not.
