Last month, Chelsea seemed happy with Sancho and the feeling was that they would end up making his loan move permanent, however, things have now quickly changed.

The winger hasn’t been quite as effective over recent weeks, but that is the same case with the Blues who have won just four of their last 13 Premier League matches.

The 24-year-old’s performance have dipped significantly and now, the West London club’s supporters have been discussing the possibility of sending him back to Old Trafford for a fee.

Chelsea have £5m option to avoid buying Jadon Sancho from Manchester United

Chelsea have an option worth £5 million which would see them avoid buying Jadon Sancho from Manchester United, according to The Athletic.

The Blues would have to pay £25 million should they decide to sign Sancho permanently, but at this stage, it remains unclear as to what they will do.

The West London club want to sign a new winger in the summer, although that is believed to stem from the uncertainty around the future of Mykhailo Mudryk.

Chelsea’s fans are eager for the club to pay the £5m fee to send Sancho back to Man United as they are unhappy with his performances.

Sancho’s display against Brighton in the FA Cup was slammed by the Chelsea faithful as he failed to complete a single dribble or shot at goal on the South Coast.

The winger has managed just two goals and six assists in 28 appearances under Enzo Maresca which has left supporters wanting more.

Estevao Willian is due to arrive in the summer and Geovany Quenda has also been signed meaning that the Blues will need to be cautious of blocking their pathway by signing another winger.

Chelsea are already well stocked with senior wingers in Pedro Neto, Noni Madueke, Tyrique George and Mudryk, along with Cole Palmer.

After learning about the £5m clause, Chelsea fans are keen for the club to take up the option and avoid paying any more to sign him permanently.

Yeah, I’d be paying that £5m to send Sancho back to United in a heartbeat.

Consider it the loan fee and move on.

One fan claimed: “Send them the £5m and get rid. I really like Sancho but he isn’t cutting it, we have loads of young wingers coming anyway and we want to sign another left winger.”

“Pay the £5m. Give that spot to Tyrique George. I liked Sancho when he was at Dortmund but it’s not the same and it’s such a shame,” added another supporter.

Chelsea should probably pay that £5m for Sancho recall. Think it will cost you more in long-term to keep him and then try and sell on.

There was another shout to send him back to Old Trafford: “Considering we spent five times as much on a 16-year-old from Brazil, £5m to send Sancho back to United is nothing! Just take the hit and move on.”

Finally, another fan said: “Pay the £5m and send Sancho back to Manchester United. No need for Chelsea to think about it.”
