TBR Football understand Manchester United watched Konstantinos Karetsas shine for Greece against Scotland on Sunday – as did Liverpool and Newcastle.
The Premier League trio were in attendance at Hampden Park alongside Manchester City, Aston Villa, Nottingham Forest and Brighton to keep an eye on the youngster as Greece recorded a 3-0 win over Scotland, relegating the Tartan Army from Nations League A.

As we approach the end of the 2024/25 campaign, a number of clubs are preparing themselves for the summer transfer window, with Brighton already signing one Greek starlet in Stefanos Tzimas – who will arrive in July.
Now, TBR Football understand another Greece international in Konstantinos Karetsas is catching the eye – with Manchester United and Liverpool keeping tabs along with Newcastle.

Graeme Bailey – Chief Correspondent for TBR Football – has now been informed that the boy from Genk is attracting plenty of interest from England.
Karetsas, who only just received his passport to represent Greece, was the reason for the aforementioned Premier League sides flocking to Hampden Park, and he did not disappoint as international history was made.
The 17-year-old scored Greece’s second with a brilliant strike, becoming the youngest goalscorer in the history of Greek football as a result.
Karetsas caused Andy Robertson many problems, which speaks volumes given the left-back’s status as captain of Scotland and an experienced senior player for Liverpool, shining in his attacking midfield role on the right flank.
The teenager has also impressed at club level for Genk this season, scoring two goals and providing four assists in 30 appearances.

Scotland presumably came into Sunday’s Nations League clash with plenty of confidence after recording a 1-0 win in the first leg, although even in that game, despite Greece losing, many of the Tartan Army were aware of Karetsas.
Craig Gordon, who was in goal for Scotland across both legs, said going into Sunday: “He looked fantastic when he came on. He’s someone we’ll need to look out for in the second leg.
“I haven’t seen many debuts like that from someone so young. It was an impressive first cap for him, but thankfully we managed to keep him out.
“We’ll see what Sunday brings and he might get more minutes at Hampden, but I’m sure we’ll have a plan to deal with that as well.”

If there was a plan, it did not seem to work.
Steve Clarke – manager of Scotland – was also impressed, according to Pat Nevin, who revealed: “I thought he made a huge difference… chatting to Steve Clarke afterwards, he agreed the young lad is pretty special and somebody that needs to be kept a really close eye on.”
No wonder the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool are keeping an eye on Karetsas.
