Arsenal midfielder Jorginho has been spotted in Brazil amidst more speculation that he will be joining Flamengo in the summer.
The Italian international is out of contract at the Emirates at the end of the season, and although there had been rumours he might be offered a place on the coaching staff in North London, he is keen to continue his playing career. Reports in Brazil suggest Flamengo are prepared to offer him a three year deal.
He was born in Brazil, but later moved to Europe, and qualified to play for Italy through is parents.
One sticking point remains the possible forfeiture of a loyalty bonus with Arenal. Because Flamengo are playing in the Club World Cup they are entitled to sign players from June 10th. However, Jorginho remains under contract until June 30th, and, if he breaks his contract then he could also lose money, something for which Flamengo might have to compensate him.
