The Italian media have been reacting to the performance of Destiny Udogie against Germany as Italy exited the Nations League.
Udogie had a tough evening in Dortmund as the visitors conceded three times in the first-half with Germany racing into a 5-1 lead on aggregate at the break.
The left wing-back completed the full 90 minutes against the Germans, however, it was a tough evening for the Tottenham Hotspur man.
The 22-year-old’s display at the Westfalenstadion has been rated by his nation’s media and the reviews were not been particularly positive.
Italian media rate Destiny Udogie’s performance vs Germany
The Italian media have slammed the performance of Destiny Udogie against Germany as the defender struggled up against Joshua Kimmich.
The Tottenham man’s ability to attack was questioned as he failed to make much of an impact down the left-hand side.
Udogie was also poor in the first-leg against Germany and it was another tricky evening for the young full-back.
TUTTO mercato WEB gave the Tottenham defender 5/10 and wrote: “He defends badly, attacks worse. In his area, Germany could literally do what they want.”
Meanwhile, CalcioMercato rated him just a 4.5/10: “Apart from the good cross at the start of the second half for Frattesi, who wastes it, he repeats the terrible performance of Thursday. He doesn’t seem ready for this level yet.”
Sky Sport were a little less harsh and rated him a 5.5/10: “He certainly puts exuberance and generosity into it, with the desire to push forward on his flank. But when it comes down to it, he does very little on the offensive level and suffers Kimmich who dominates on his side in the first.”

Udogie’s hamstring injury from January looks to still be affecting him as the 22-year-old has struggled to reach the form which saw him become one of the Premier League’s most exciting full-backs.
