Milan hit the nail on the head after luring Christian Pulisic from the Premier League, where he often struggled at Chelsea despite winning the UEFA Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup, and UEFA Super Cup during his time at Stamford Bridge. The American winger arrived at Chelsea in 2019 with high expectations but never fully established himself in a competitive squad.

His time in England was marked by inconsistency, injuries, and tactical struggles. Frequent hamstring issues kept him sidelined for long stretches, making it difficult to secure a regular starting role. Additionally, Chelsea’s attacking depth and high-intensity style of play made it challenging for Pulisic to stand out.

However, his move to Milan in 2023 proved to be a turning point. Serie A’s tactical, less physically intense style suited his game, allowing him to rediscover his confidence. At San Siro, consistent playing time and a well-defined role have helped him thrive, making him an essential part of the Rossoneri’s attack. Now, the Italian giant aims to repeat this success story with another struggling Premier League star.

Milan’s next target: Champions League-winning midfielder

Jack Grealish, the Manchester City playmaker, has emerged as a prime target for Milan as he endures a difficult season at the Etihad. Once considered one of the most exciting talents in English football, Grealish’s importance under Pep Guardiola has drastically diminished this season. With City prioritizing younger, more dynamic wingers such as Jeremy Doku, Omar Marmoush, and Savinho, the 29-year-old midfielder has been left on the fringes.

His declining role at City has been reflected in his lackluster numbers—just two goals and five assists across all competitions this season. This drop in form has not only affected his club career but has also seen him lose his place in the England squad under Thomas Tuchel.

With his future at Etihad uncertain, the Rossoneri see an opportunity to revive Grealish’s career just as they did with Pulisic. According to the Mirror, Milan are eager to sign the Englishman and are prepared to offer $52 million, although their preference is to secure a loan deal with an option to buy.

The Milan management is said to believe that Italy could offer Grealish a fresh start, much like it did for Pulisic. The Rossoneri’s interest in Kyle Walker, currently on loan at Milan from City, further strengthens their potential negotiations with the Premier League champions. With Walker likely to make his move permanent, the team could capitalize on their good relationship with the Citizens to negotiate a deal for Grealish as well.

Could Serie A revive Grealish’s career?

At his best, Grealish was one of the most electrifying players in the Premier League, dazzling fans with his dribbling, creativity, and direct attacking play. His most memorable performances came during his final seasons at Aston Villa, where he was the focal point of the team’s attack.

Since joining City, however, he has struggled to adapt to Pep Guardiola’s tactical demands, often playing in a more restricted role that limited his creativity. If he were to move to Milan, he would have the opportunity to play in a system that allows more freedom in attacking areas, much like Pulisic has experienced.
