Liverpool could be in for a monumental summer as Arne Slot gears up to defend the Premier League title.
While the Reds haven’t officially clinched this season’s championship yet, it seems only a matter of time before they’re crowned victors. Once that’s confirmed, focus will shift to the next season, with potential blockbuster signings on the horizon.
Several key Liverpool players, including Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold, are all out of contract this summer. The Reds remain hopeful of keeping hold of Salah and Van Dijk, but Alexander-Arnold is widely expected to join Real Madrid – a major European rival – on a free transfer.
However, if that doesn’t pan out, they may need to delve into the transfer market. A few names have already been linked with a move to Anfield, even though the window is months away from opening. So, what might Liverpool’s XI look like if these transfers come to fruition?
In goal, Arne Slot faces a tough choice with three potential first-choice keepers at his disposal. Brazilian Alisson is currently his preferred option, with Caoimhin Kelleher serving as back-up – but he could depart ahead of the new season. Giorgi Mamardashvili is set to join the Merseyside outfit in the summer and will challenge Alisson. But for now, the latter should retain his spot.
Moving onto defence, a few changes are likely. The first could be at right-back, with Alexander-Arnold seemingly on his way out. Liverpool has frequently been linked with Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong, who could be brought in as a replacement.

Liverpool might also consider a move for Pedro Hincapie, who could step into Ibrahima Konate’s shoes in central defence. Additionally, Bournemouth’s standout left-back Milos Kerkez has been linked with a switch to Anfield following his impressive performances on the South Coast.
The future of Virgil van Dijk is another hot topic, as he approaches the end of his contract at Anfield. However, club officials are reportedly optimistic about him extending his tenure on Merseyside.
While there may be significant changes in the defensive line-up, the midfield might remain relatively stable. Liverpool has already made substantial investments in their midfield, with Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister playing pivotal roles, and Ryan Gravenberch now a regular fixture at Anfield.
The attack, however, could see some major shake-ups. If Kerkez sports a Liverpool jersey, the Reds might decide to swoop in on Bournemouth again, this time for forward Antoine Semenyo.
Liverpool could potentially secure a deal for Semenyo by offering Ben Doak in a swap deal. Speaking of players Liverpool is interested in, the Reds are reportedly among the favourites to sign former Spurs star Harry Kane.
He is reportedly keen on a Premier League comeback, an opportunity that Liverpool could certainly provide. If this happens, he would form an impressive goal-scoring duo with Salah, who Liverpool is still hopeful of retaining at Anfield.
Potential Liverpool XI: Alisson; Jeremie Frimpong, Pedro Hincapie, Milos Kerkez; Ryan Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai; Mohamed Salah, Antoine Semenyo, Harry Kane
