Bayern Munich CEO responds to Giulia Gwinn’s criticisms of the top club officials

Bayern’s CEO believes they support the Frauen team plenty as it is.

In the post-match show of the DFB-Pokal Frauen semifinal, Bayern Munich star, Giulia Gwinn, called out Bayern’s top officials, calling it a pity that they were not at such an important home match. Now, Jan-Christian Dreesen has decided to reply to Gwinn — and many think that he has unnecessarily escalated the situation.

X account @iMiaSanMia captured Dreesen saying, “Bianca Rech [Director of FC Bayern Frauen] said the right thing about the club’s enormous support. We’re doing a lot for the women’s football team, both in terms of infrastructure and the team.”

While it is unlikely that we will hear another comment from Gwinn, fans have not taken well to Dressen’s comments. Some say that he did not really even address the situation, while some are calling it a lame excuse — and some even used more explicit adjectives than lame. However, the majority of comments though, interpret his response to mean that because the club is giving the Frauen team money, they really should not complain about what kind of support they are getting.

What do you think of these comments? Did it satisfy the situation or make things work internally? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
