Bayern is on a contract extension roll, and has now secured their dynamic left-back for another season!
The Bayern Munich front office is on a tear lately with extending players in the Frauen side, from rising phenom Alara Șehitler to veteran stalwart Klara Bühl. The latest to get an extended stay in Bavaria is left-back Carolin Simon, who is now set to stay until at least the end of the 2025/26.
“I’m very glad I’ll continue to play for FC Bayern,” Simon said in comments captured by FCBayern.com. “I’ve been in Munich for a few years now and I just feel right here. That’s why it wasn’t a difficult decision for me, and the discussions with the club officials were also fantastic. For this reason, we quickly came to the decision that we want to continue on this path together. I love the team and the environment, I’m simply in the right place here.”
Simon is a key figure in the Bayern attack and is known for her wand of a left foot, especially from set pieces. She collected an eye-popping 13 league assists in 2022/23 before suffering a devastating knee injury that cut short her 2023/24. This season, the German international is back to her old ways for club and country, and is a fixture for head coach Alexander Straus as Bayern continue their campaign for a treble.
“We’re delighted,” said Bayern Frauen sporting director Bianca Rech of Simon’s decision to stay, adding: “Caro has come back incredibly well and is an important personality — on and off the pitch.”
