Exclusive: The shock Jadon Sancho deal Chelsea could be willing to do as Borussia Dortmund eye return

3 Min Read

TBR Football can exclusively reveal that Borussia Dortmund are interested in re-signing Jadon Sancho.

Last season, the Manchester United loanee returned to Dortmund on a loan deal and played a key role in their fairytale run to the Champions League final — a move that gave the 25-year-old the chance to get his career back on track.

But Sancho has struggled for form at Chelsea during his ongoing loan spell after a promising start to life at Stamford Bridge — with just two goals and four assists to his name this season.

Chelsea are backing Sancho despite his struggles but it is worrying how underwhelming he has been for much of the 2024/2025 campaign. But a new development has emerged around Jadon Sancho’s future now.

Chelsea could sign Jadon Sancho and sell him to Borussia Dortmund

Graeme BaileyTBR Football’s chief correspondent has been informed that it is a possibility that Chelsea sign Sancho permanently from Manchester United and then sell him to Borussia Dortmund to make a quick profit on his signature.

TBR Football understands that Enzo Maresca’s side could simply pay £5 million towards a clause that terminates their obligation-to-buy the England international.

However, it looks like a craftier deal is on Chelsea’s mind, with Sancho’s people having been in contact with Borussia Dortmund anyway. Anthony Elanga called Sancho a “top player” and it seems his topsy-turvy career over the past few years has not left fellow players and clubs across Europe unconvinced of his quality — as Dortmund would be keen on yet another reunion.

It is also interesting to note that Jamie Gittens might be open to joining Chelsea and at least in theory, the West Londoners could sign the former Manchester City wideman in a deal that could involve Sancho.

Gittens could be a part of an overhaul at Borussia Dortmund this summer and emerge as one of their many potential outgoings.

Chelsea begin talks to sign winger amid Jadon Sancho doubts

From Chelsea’s perspective, they look to be scouring the transfer market to sign attackers in an attempt to bolster their front line next season.

Nico Williams is on Chelsea’s shortlist as they could still decide to send Sancho back to Manchester United.

Williams could sign for Arsenal from Athletic Bilbao, however and plenty of clubs seem to be showing interest in signing one of Europe’s best young wide forwards.
