Can the Croatian international become a fixture in the Bayern XI
Bayern Munich is undergoing a changing of the guard. As veteran mainstays such as Thomas Müller and Manuel Neuer head into the twilight of their careers — even if they may not be ready to call it quits just yet — it is time to pass the torch to a new generation.
And who better to embody that than a core of players who came up in the Bayern youth ranks? From Aleksandar Pavlović to Jamal Musiala to Josip Stanišić, Bayern have a few options. And they’re ready to take the mantle. All of them.
“I think I have what it takes for that,” Stanišić said recently of becoming a ‘leading’ Bayern player down the road (as captured via @iMiaSanMia). “But I have to deserve it through good performances.”
The 24-year-old won himself a Bundesliga title while featuring on loan at Bayer Leverkusen last season, but is back in Bavaria and asserting himself in Vincent Kompany’s side. This season has been a long road back from injury for the Croatian international — but one gets the feeling he is starting to hit his stride.
