…and the former Bayern striker likes what he is seeing.
Gone but Mia san mia always. Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting will always be a Bayern Munich man at heart.
The Cameroonian international and former Bayern striker is now playing for Red Bull New York in the United States, but is following along his old club. And no surprise, he is full of hope for what this season might bring.
“Of course I’ve been following them this season,” Choupo-Moting said in recent comments captured by kicker (via @iMiaSanMia). “I think [first-year head coach Vincent] Kompany is doing a great job. I’m convinced they will be German champions because of the way they’re playing football and also the way the squad is being rotated — every player who gets his chance is hungry. That’s important.
“I think they will not only win the league title, but there’s also a lot possible in the Champions League. I hope they will also go far here in the summer at the Club World Cup. The semifinal and final are here in New York.”
A summer reunion for Choupo and his former teammates and friends at the club? Who wouldn’t love to see it?
