It’s the UCL quarters and Bayern has drawn the Serie A giants.
Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer took a moment to look beyond the Bundesliga and at the team’s upcoming Champions League opponents.
The Bavarians will face Inter Milan across two legs in April in the Champions League quarterfinals — a stern test on the other side of which may wait FC Barcelona or Borussia Dortmund.
“Of course, it’s a tough one,” Hainer said this week for Magenta TV (as captured @iMiaSanMia). “Inter certainly belongs to the elite of European football. We have the necessary respect for them. On the other hand, we are Bayern.
“The games against Leverkusen showed what we’re capable of. That’s now the benchmark for us. I’m very confident. We want to advance. There’s absolutely no doubt about that. Losing is not an option.”
Of course, that is how it is in the Champions League knockouts. Win or go home — or win and Dahoam.
