Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly learned the asking price of Southampton winger Tyler Dibling.

The 19-year-old was a relative unknown when Southampton were preparing for their first season back in the Premier League in August.

Since then, though, the youngster has arguably been the Saints’ only positive of a dismal campaign having established himself as a key player despite his age.

Although just two goals have been scored from 25 Premier League appearances, Dibling has regularly impressed on the flank since a standout display versus Manchester United in September.

As per a recent report, the Red Devils allegedly feel that they can become favourites to sign Dibling in the future through one specific reason.

Nevertheless, neighbours Man City and Spurs have also been credited with an interest in the starlet, who is an England Under-21 international.

According to The Telegraph, Southampton are prepared to demand in excess of £100m if any club wishes to sign Dibling during the summer transfer window.

Barring an unforeseen upturn in performances and results, the South-coast outfit will be participating in the Championship during 2024-25.

However, it appears that club officials have no intention of softening their stance towards the future of Dibling when he still has time left on his contract.

There have been conflicting reports over how long is remaining, but his deal is currently due to expire in either 2026 or 2027.

How will interested clubs react?

With only a handful of players having been signed by Premier League clubs for £100m or more, it is unrealistic to expect such a transfer to take place this summer.

Clubs will want to win the race for Dibling’s signature, yet not to the extent of essentially putting all of their eggs in one basket.

Southampton may weaken their stance over time, particularly if Dibling does not end his three-month wait for another goal in the Premier League.

As it stands, Southampton may not receive bids for half of the amount that they crave, which could lead to a drawn-out saga over the summer.
