Arsenal have had a mixed season so far.

The Gunners crashed out of both domestic cups, and their chances of winning the Premier League title are all but over now. But, despite all the injury issues and refereeing decisions going against them, they are still second.

To add to that, they are in the quarter-finals of the Champions League for the second season in a row, which is a very good achievement.

Arsenal have had a few surprises too within their squad this season. Ray Parlour has had his say on two of them.

Ray Parlour makes a prediction about Myles Lewis-Skelly and Ethan Nwaneri at Arsenal

Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly have had brilliant seasons so far.

At the start of the campaign, neither player would’ve expected to play as many minutes as they have for the first team this season.

But, injuries have opened the door for them to come in, and the two teenagers have exceeded expectations in the famous red and white.

Parlour thinks Nwaneri and Lewis-Skelly have shocked everyone with their performances this season.

The Arsenal legend has also predicted that if the two players continue to work hard and keep themselves surrounded by good people, they will become ‘superstars’.

Parlour told HaytersTV: “I think they have really shocked everyone.

“Sometimes, you need that little bit of luck with certain injuries. Obviously, they have been training well with the first team. At one stage, Arteta has probably said, ‘I’ve got to give them a go’, and they haven’t looked back, really. I’m really pleased for them.

“It’s early in their careers. It’s a big, long, hard route in front of them to become top, top stars of football going forward, but if they can get the right people around them and keep working hard in training, which Mikel Arteta will demand I’m sure, they can be superstars because they’ve got everything going for them.”

Arsenal have two future superstars in Lewis-Skelly and Nwaneri, and the Gunners need to make sure that they keep hold of both players.

If either of them becomes available on the market, we’re sure every big club in the world will stand up and take notice.

Thankfully for Arsenal fans, progress is being made behind the scenes.

TBR Football exclusively revealed earlier this month that Lewis-Skelly is close to finalising his new contract at Arsenal, and it could be done in the coming weeks.

We also revealed in November that Nwaneri had agreed terms over a new Arsenal deal, and now that he has turned 18, that should be wrapped up in the very near future.
