Trent Alexander-Arnold has previoulsy suggested that Liverpool have a ‘future star’ who could become his replacement with his move to Real Madrid getting closer.
Alexander-Arnold is closing in on a move to Real Madrid on a free transfer with talks between the two parties reaching an advanced stage.
The Reds will have to start looking for replacements for the 26-year-old who has been a key player for Arne Slot this season.
That process looks to have already started, although Alexander-Arnold’s past comments suggest that the Merseyside club already have a quality replacement.
Trent Alexander-Arnold on Conor Bradley being Liverpool’s biggest future star
Speaking back in October 2024, Trent Alexander-Arnold revealed that Conor Bradley is Liverpool’s biggest future star.
Meanwhile, Liverpool also believe in Bradley’s potential and are ready to put their trust in him should Alexander-Arnold make the move to the Spanish capital.
The England international explained how he regularly speaks to the 21-year-old and offers him guidance as the two have been battling it out for the right-back spot.
Alexander Arnold told Sky Sports: “For sure (wanting to be a mentor to Liverpool’s younger players), I like to speak to all these kind of lads, but I speak mostly to Conor, obviously being the same position. The future star of Liverpool? I’m going to go with Conor.”
When asked about being subbed off for him in games, he replied: “I like to play 90 minutes, but I know how good he is and I have trust in him to get the job done and to help the team win the game.”
Will Liverpool make another signing in addition to Conor Bradley?
Liverpool are expected to make a signing at right-back regardless of Bradley, with Arne Slot telling them to start work on a deal for Jeremie Frimpong.
Frimpong would bring great experience with him to Anbfield having won the Bundeliga title with Bayer Leverkusen last season.
The attacking full-back was a fundamental part of Xabi Alonso’s title-winning team and could be the perfect competition for Bradley next season.
