Is Bayern Munich lining up its next striker?
The price is set on Woltemade (Bild via @iMiaSanMia)
In recent weeks, rumors linking Bayern Munich to VfB Stuttgart striker Nick Woltemade have been floating around.
Woltemade has become the latest young striker who some are pointing to as potentially being “The Next One.” Now, we are starting to see what a price for Woltemade might look like:
Stuttgart’s asking price for Nick Woltemade is at least €40m, which would make him their record sale.
Woltemade certainly made his case for the attention that he is getting with his hat-trick against Spain for the Germany U-21 side:

If Woltemade can continue this excellent run of play, he could become the kind of player that Bayern Munich might heavily consider taking a run at this summer. With Harry Kane being rumored to be entertaining offers (probably not true) to go back to England this summer, Bayern Munich might at least want to have a contingency plan in place should the unthinkable happen.
Most expect 2026 to be the timeframe for Kane to make a move, which could end up working out better for the Bavarians — especially if Florian Wirtz makes himself available this summer (which seems like a longshot at the moment).
One club ruled out for Gyökeres (@Plettigoal)
There is one club that Sporting CP star Viktor Gyökeres will not join (much to the chagrin of RLD) — Nottingham Forest:
⤵️✔️ As exclusively revealed in October, Viktor #Gyökeres can leave Sporting for €60-70m in summer. As there’s a verbal agreement between Gyökeres and the club.
The current and clear trend: Gyökeres will not join Forest.

Frimpong eyeing LFC deal? (Caught Offside)
Bayer Leverkusen star Jeremie Frimpong could be looking at a future with Liverpool FC:
Jeremie Frimpong has been speaking to Arne Slot on the phone ‘a lot’ in February.
The Bayer Leverkusen wing-back is understood to be a person of interest for Liverpool ahead of the summer transfer window. The intrigue is understandable, of course, given that there’s every possibility vice-captain Trent Alexander-Arnold could depart the club amid heavy links to Real Madrid. Christian Falk also noted that the Dutch head coach’s interest is hardly fresh; the 46-year-old wanted Frimpong signed in the prior summer window.
“Jeremie Frimpong and Arne Slot were on the phone a lot last month. Both are Dutch, and Slot wanted to sign him in the summer,” the head of football at the BILD Group told CaughtOffside in his exclusive Fact Files column.
“The Liverpool head coach had been telling the fullback he was still keen to get him. However, he’s very upfront and honest, so Frimpong is aware that, at the moment, a striker and a defender are the main targets for Liverpool who aren’t going to get any fees in for Virgil van Dijk, Mo Salah or Trent Alexander-Arnold should all three leave at the end of their contracts this summer.
“So, he knows that he’s No.3 on the to-do list for Arne Slot, but if the club can manage to sign both a striker and a defender – he will be the next target. His release clause is nearly €40m, so it’s a lot of money!”
Madrid could be forced to sell a young star (ESPN)
Real Madrid is finding it hard to manage all of its talent, egos, and personalities on its roster — and could look to sell a budding, young star this summer:
With questions being asked about whether Real Madrid’s big-name players can all operate together, Diario Sport has suggested that Los Blancos could be forced to let Rodrygo or Vinícius Júnior leave in the summer. There are reportedly a number of Premier League clubs keen to make Rodrygo their standout player, a status he hasn’t quite achieved in Madrid, while Vinícius wants a contract in line with Kylian Mbappé’s amid continued interest from the Saudi Pro League.
Bavarian Podcast Works — Emergency Edition: Bayern Munich loses Alphonso Davies for the season, Dayot Upamecano for “several weeks” (Bavarian Football Works)
The hits keep on coming for Bayern Munich.
The international break was not kind to the Bavarians as Manuel Neuer suffered a setback with his calf issue. Little did we know that injury would be the least of our concerns. Alphonso Davies tore the cruciate ligament in his right knee and will miss the rest of the season, while Dayot Upamecano has “loose bodies” in his knee and will miss up to six weeks per Bild.
Obviously, this is not ideal, so let’s discuss:
- How the news broke and why did Bayern Munich downplay Davies’ injury?
- Upamecano’s injury seemed to come out of nowhere.
- What might have caused this? The schedule? The conditions? Wear-and-tear?
- Where does Bayern Munich go from here and how it can cover the loss of two key players like Upamecano and Davies.

LFC to experience a mass exodus? (Fichajes via 90Min.com)
Liverpool could experience a mass exodus of its proven stars this summer. Real Madrid is expected to get Trent Alexander-Arnold, but he is not the only one thinking about a move:
Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk have all decided to leave Liverpool this summer after accepting the Reds are not capable of competing for Champions League glory.

More De Bruyne-to-San Diego chatter (ESPN)
Another week, another rumor linking Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne to San Diego FC:
Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne, 33, has held talks with MLS side San Diego, according to The Sun. The Belgium international is set to become a free agent when his contract expires this summer and is keen to continue his career in MLS.
