Team News: Robert Lewandowski decision made as Hansi Flick confirms Barcelona XI for controversial Osasuna fixture

Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has confirmed his starting XI for Thursday’s La Liga clash with Osasuna, with a decision on Robert Lewandowski‘s involvement being made.

Lewandowski emerged as a doubt for the contest when it was revealed that he had picked up a minor issue while representing Poland during the March international break, and the experienced striker is only on the bench here.

Raphinha misses out altogether, having represented Brazil on Tuesday night, but Ronald Araujo is among the substitutes, as he was not involved for Uruguay earlier this week.

Pau Cubarsi is also in the squad despite suffering an ankle issue in Spain’s UEFA Nations League clash with Netherlands last week, but he is unlikely to be used for the rearranged fixture, which was originally due to take place on March 8 before being postponed following the tragic death of Barcelona’s first-team doctor Carles Minarro Garcia.

Eric Garcia joins fit-again Inigo Martinez in the middle of the defence, while there are also starts for Gavi, Dani Olmo and Ferran Torres, as Flick shuffles his pack for the key La Liga fixture.

As for Osasuna, their major news involves Ante Budimir, with the 15-goal striker only on the bench for the visitors.

Raul Garcia is given the nod through the middle for Vicente Moreno‘s side, while Jose Arnaiz and Aimar Oroz are also introduced in attacking areas for the clash with the team at the top of the La Liga table.

Barcelona: Szczesny; Kounde, E Garcia, I Martinez, Balde; De Jong, Pedri; Yamal, Gavi, Olmo; F Torres
Subs: Cubarsi, Araujo, Lewandowski, Fati, Pena, Torre, Fermin, Victor, Kochen, Fort, Martin, Olmedo

Osasuna: Herrera; Areso, Herrando, Catena, Cruz; Moncayola, Ibanez; Arnaiz, Aimar, Munoz; Raul
Subs: Fernandez, Valencia, U Garcia, Barja, R Garcia, Pena, Gomez, Budimir, Boyomo, Bretones, Osambela, J Garcia
